Earlier works trace recurring concerns with landscape, transformation and cultural constructions of nature.
DEMONTAGE
Thirty-six stones taken from Alpine summits are duplicated in stoneware. The original summit stones are then ground into dust and presented as small mountains, each identified by its geological and geographical data.
The work reverses the heroic image of the summit. Collection becomes erosion; possession becomes dissolution; the mountain returns as material and scale.
VIEW PROJECTTATAMI
LANDSCAPE
Artificial-grass tatami forms are set within a field of white gravel. The geometric islands become places for kneeling, encounter and ritualised action.
The work translates the conventions of a Japanese dry garden into a provisional social landscape: constructed nature becomes a surface for use.
VIEW PROJECT
KARESANSUI
A reconstruction of the Ryōan-ji dry garden at a scale of 1:5 replaces its stones with small cones of gravel. Reduction becomes a process of gradual dissolution.
Visitors enter a landscape that can be used and transformed: an image of contemplation becomes material, action and temporal change.
